Little Bird 05:49
I wake up in the middle on the night. I see your face marked in my mind like the twilight. You blue-eyed boy I see you fine. From days long ago, I carry them with me wher'er I go. Little Bird, My only son, Let's forget all we've said and done. For after all, Your heart and mine, They beat the same, Across these many miles, Across these many years. I'll wait for many years. How'd you get to be so big? It seems like yesterday, you were the one I used to kid, 'bout being so handsome. These days I say a prayer for you. No real wishes, nothing I'm asking for. It's just a whisper carried on the backs of the wind. Well, I know you hear me. The night and day, they know your name.

Tiny Graves 05:00
Tiny graves on a mountain side. Where joy is hung, and sorrow hides. Stone blind angels for a guide, To the place where the soul never. "Cora May, Infant Daughter Flown too soon to the Savior's arms." Now she lies with her sisters, In a well-tended corner of a barren farm. Her mother folds the baby blanket. Six years old, but still brand new. Her father tidies up his wood shop, Puts away the cradle frames and coffin glue. "Virgil Potts Lies A "Sleeping A Few Brief Years; Forever in our Hearts." His mother hid in the woods the night it happened, As the whipoorwills tore the night apart. His father made his own liquor, He went blind the night Virgil died. His mother swore she couldn't save her baby. We all knew she never really tried.

Oh oh who's gonna help me now? Oh Lord, we all need help somehow. Saw a man walking on down the road. I saw a man walking on down the road, then he was lying in a hole. A preacher came a walking, said, "How are you man?" A preacher came a walking, said, "How are you man? Oh, I've got some where to go." A levite came a walking on down the road, Saw a man lying in a hole. He said, "I got a prayer and a song for you." He said, "I got a prayer and a song for you, but I got somewhere to go." Next man who came was a samaritan, the good samaritan. Well, he jumped into that hole. He said, "Oh I'm gonna help you now." "Oh, we all need help somehow." "Oh I'm just like everyone." "Oh, thank God for this one." Saw two men walking on down the road. Saw two men walking on down the road. Well, they got out of that hole.

I've been traveling to my home town. I'm made the same trip for 12 years now. And each time the changes, they go 'round, Each time the people, they are around. So the sun rises, And the sun, she does set. Ever day, So they say. Your hands, they grow older Your heart, it doesn't know. Your eyes, they grow warmer, I hope, I hope. The times doesn't kill the ghosts of the past. But I hope we can ignore them, As they walk past. So the sun rises, And the sun, she does set. And the memories of this place, That somehow forget me. So, see me. Some people I recognize their face and their smile. Some people I just don't know, Even though I've known them for a while. And I pray as time takes you out of my hand, And I pray as hands are laid Hearts are laid and then, So the sun rises, And the sun, she does set. And I won't know that time has left. The sun rises And the sun, it does set.

Cane 04:24
Well, seldom do I venture, Far without my cane. To do so, like to drive me insane. It's got a curvy handle. It's easy to hold on. A soft tip, for a sure grip, even in the cold. But there's a little problem. I can't seem to walk with out it. Part of my whole routine. No problem with my hip bone, And neither foot is lame. There's no limp, But I carry it just the same. My friend and my companion, In most everything I do, The time has come to say goodbye to you. The temperature is rising. The sweats beads up on my neck. My hands shakes, And my head bakes, I feel a wreck. To abandon all those crutches, To leave that cane outside the door, To finally say I don't need it anymore. But there's a little problem. I can't seem to live without it. Part of my whole routine.

Anna's Song 04:17
They say you're up When you should be down Sleeping through the day Walk the nights in town. But who am I judge? And who am I to damn? I'm just a seeker looking to hold your hand. So, guide me, midnight, galaxy-way, You sure know your way through the dark. And I'm just drowning in the day. Through the night, The endless night, You hover by the waters wide. The planets turn., As you and I, we turn, Turning to the tides and to the waves. Reflecting a star-studded milk way, You always knew the way. So, guide me, midnight, galaxy-way. You sure know your way through the dark. And last I saw the day, was much too harsh When you gonna find a piece of love? When you gonna find a piece of peace? Nestled in the ash beneath the feet, Taken by the worm, shoveled by the dirt, Going back the way of our birth.

It was Sunday morning in that church on the block. Old Mr. Davenport would stand in and talk. As the couples and the families came, Saying "Hallelujah, I'm glad that you came." He sang "Hallelujah, peace to men. This old love, it'll live again." It was a little town where he married and grew up. Some folks left and some couldn't get enough. And he would lead all the Gideon men, Saying "Let us bring peace to all the women and men." The times they moved on, but he stayed younger now, With the faith of a child, I do not know how. He would greet and smile at me. To this day, he'd always sing, He sang "Hallelujah, peace to men. This old love, it'll live again." What wondrous love is this? (Oh my soul, oh my soul) And when from death I'm free (I'll sing on) And when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyfully be And through eternity, I'll sing on, I'll sing on. It was Sunday morning in that church on the block. Old Mr. Davenport would stand in and talk. As the couples and the families came, Saying "Hallelujah, I'm glad that you came."

Are you free? Are you able? Are you listening to what you hear? Behind the voice of doubt, There is a love that binds. Behind the worry of the night, There is a light that shines on you. Are you weak? Are you sore? Are you hurting from the climb? Are you waiting for a miracle? Well. sometimes a miracle is all that's left behind. At the end of a day, At the end of the night, "Well, what's there after?" You might ask inside. What's there of me? And can I take you? Well, where I'm going, You can come along too. You can take along heart. You can take along ease. You can take my hand, And I'll take yours. So, say farewell to those around. Now, come along children, Let's go on home.
